۩ Comprehensive responsibility for diverse financial management functions including development of monthly/quarterly financial statements, financial forecasts and budgets. 

۩ Oversaw general accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, account reconciliation and cash management. Supervised up to 10 personnel, including their hiring training and performance review. 

۩ Administered all financial management systems, evaluated and integrated new applications. 

۩ Developed highly skilled accounting and financial management team to achieve established objectives. 

۩ Interacted with all Division Directors to fulfill the goal of the State Treasurer. 

۩ Worked with appropriate State of New Mexico departments to ensure compliance with all state statutes and federal laws.




Santa Fe, NM


Transportation Planner

۞ Direct responsibility for Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Transportation and Department of Transportation (public transportation) grants in grant management, fiscal management and planning. 

۞ Served as State Coordinator (Director) of the New Mexico Operation Lifesaver Railroad Safety Program, educating the general public regarding railroad safety issues.  

۞ Served as local trainer of presenters and spokesperson for Operation Lifesaver Program.




CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE, Albuquerque, NM    1976-1985


Accountant (Grant Administrator)

* Prepared and administered federally funded programs for Sun-Tran, the city bus system, 

* Responsibilities included the planning, budget, appropriation, application and administration of operation and capital grants.

* In the General Accounting Division, was responsible for accounting and monitoring assigned federal and state grants. Prior to grant, accounting was the Paymaster, responsible for the payment of salaries to all city employees and responsible for all associated tax reports and federal/state withholding (FICA, PERA, etc.), as required by law, statute and regulation.

Accounting Manager

ý Managed all accounting functions within the realms of tax collection, investments, account reconciliation and general ledger for the County Treasurer’s Office. 

ý Supervised the accounting staff and interacted with other government agencies.



UNIVERSITY OF ALBUQUERQUE, Albuquerque, NM    1985-1986


Physical Plant Director


ü Supervised the activities of up to 15 personnel as well as all physical plant functions. Responsible for custodial, grounds, vehicle maintenance and campus security. 


ü Responsibilities included preparation of the departmental budget, all fiscal matters and personnel-related issues. 


ü Served as Director until the University closed in 1986.

Substitute Teacher

Teach students from diverse backgrounds in grades kindergarten to high school in variety of curriculums as outlined by the teacher’s lesson plans. Utilize communications, problem solving and organizational skills and aptitudes.



FRENCH FAMILY OF COMPANIES, Albuquerque, NM                         2002-2004

Family Service Consultant and Transportation Associate 

Assisted families in arranging services at the memorial park (cemetery).  Assisted in coordination of services ensuring a dignified rite of service for the families of the deceased.  Responsible for the care and sensitive removal of the deceased from various locations to the funeral home for preparation. Assisted the embalming staff and professional staff in support of Funeral Assistant-related functions.


In his younger years, before going into the Navy:

C  Had a paper route,

C  Mowed lawns for extra money,

C  Concession stand worker and cook,

C  Usher and door person at a local theater,

C  Laborer on a road crew, 

C  And just before going into the Navy did 2 years as an apprentice embalmer.
